Always Flowing - Never Failing

There is a certain sense of magic to a waterfall! These natural wonders, with their thunderous roar and majestic presence, are a testament to a grand Creator. The symphony of water tumbling over rocks, a gentle yet powerful melody, resonates deep within my soul. Standing at the base of a fall, I am often overcome with a profound sense of peace and tranquility, which compels me to acknowledge the Creator.

Recently, I traveled to Multnomah Falls in Oregon. It is a 611-foot-tall, roaring, awe-inspiring tumble of icy water. I walked up a paved path to reach Benson Bridge for a close look. On the bridge, you see a view of the top-tier bases, a perfect view of the 542-foot fall, and a second tier of a 69-foot drop. It was breathtaking! One interesting fact about Multnomah is that unlike many of the West's famous falls, this one is unaffected by the hot summer. It does not dry up. It is sourced from rainwater, underground springs, and snow melt. Its water tumbles continually. Therefore, it is a complete and spectacular sight any day of the year.

My mind travels from the unending source of water that falls magically over the mountainside to the unending goodness of the Lord. His goodness continues to fall in and around us with the same awe! His mercies never run dry, for they are fresh every morning. Just as the waterfall's flow is constant and unending, so is the Creator's love and goodness, a reassuring and comforting thought. I also remind myself that for me not to get dry in my walk with the Lord; I must stay connected to the Living Water—the Holy Spirit Who guides and directs.

Friend, I do not know what you are facing today, but be reminded that the One who created Multnomah Falls also rains His goodness on you. Our Lord has excess love for you and me that overflows enduringly with affection. His love and goodness will never run out. He is good, God, and He is good at being God, as Lysa TerKeurst says. Today, we stand in awe of not only the endless water flow of Multnomah but, even more, in awe of the constant flow of the goodness of our Lord. His unfailing love flows endlessly for you and me. Psalm 103:11 reads, "For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth." Stay connected to the source of the living water, which never runs dry.

For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. Psalm 103:11.
