Front-Porch-Prayers and Back-to-School Kids

As children climb on the yellow school bus and parents drop family members at educational campuses, be reminded of the power of a praying momma. Prayer is the secret to a victorious Christian life for you and your children. Though my littles have graduated from high school, I still have one in college and one grand-baby girl starting preschool. If you are like me and are looking for ways to make a difference in your child and/or grandchild’s life, then pray for them. Here are four points of prayer for your loved one as they start the school year.

  1. Pray for Peace:

Father, I pray for (insert child’s name) to have Your peace as we start this school year. I pray he/she will be calm and confident from the moment they step onto the school campus until they return home. Allow them not to be anxious about anything, but to have a calming assurance of your presence and peace with them each step of their day.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made know to God.” Philippians 4:6

2. Pray for Courage

Father, I pray for (insert your child’s name) to be bold and courageous as he/she faces each challenge. I pray that my child will be bold like a lion. (Proverbs 28:1) Give courage to stand for truth and righteousness. Give boldness to share of you. Give Godly strength to overcome any frightful situations

“Have I not commanded you? Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

3. Pray for Wisdom

Lord, allow (insert child’s name) to seek your wisdom and to grow in knowledge give in their classroom settings. Give him/her the desire to apply themselves and learn well. Allow him/her to study and prepare each day what is asked of them. Give strength and direction to gain understanding.

“Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you.” Provers 4:6

4. Pray for Protection

Father, I pray that you will protect and guard (insert child’s name) when disappointments come his/her way. I also pray for protection physically. Give safety. Give a hedge of protection around their life. Place your angels before and behind. Keep them from danger. We trust you, Lord.

The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; my Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.” 2 Samuel 22:3-4

A praying momma knows the author of her child’s story.

A praying momma understands where to find peace for her child’s pain.

A praying momma is connected to the One who can move mountains in her child’s journey.

A praying momma knows how to cover her children with His love, grace, and goodness.

A praying momma prays over yellow school buses, bus drivers, teachers, and childhood friendships. A praying momma is the one demons fear.

To all my praying mommas today; let’s pray and pray so more over the children God has entrusted to us. Whether you are a mom, a grandma, or an aunt, pray on your knees in private so they can stand in public.
