I love to fly.
When flying with the clouds, it is easy for me to see the vastness of this big, beautiful world. The blue sky meets a floor of white fluff as far as the eye can see. When the clouds open, the buildings below look like toy pieces of a board game. When flying, I am humbled by how tiny I am in this vast world. I am also reminded of how big and beautiful my God and His creation are! If He can create this vast universe, He can care for you and me in this world.
However, when standing underneath the clouds, my view is different. In the street view, I tend to focus more on myself and what is directly in front of me. My thoughts are full of my life and my worries. I quickly forget how big, loving, and powerful the Creator is. Sometimes, I need reminders that if He can speak into existence the universe, He can take care of my little worries. He is aware. He is able. “He is God, and He is good, and He is good at being God,” as Lysa Terkeurst says.
Have you ever focused so intently on the street view that you lost the satellite view? My friend, whatever problem is staring you in the face this morning, can I be a gentle reminder of the Big God we serve? He loves you deeply. He’s got this! He sees the beginning and the end.
Today, be reminded of the power and vastness of our God. Let us “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) Lean into the amazing God we serve. He is abundant in power, and He is able to take care of your every concern.
I invite you to fly with the clouds. Think- big picture. I challenge you to take your eyes off the problems directly in front of you and see our God. Be encouraged that He has the power to take care of you and me.
Fly, sweet friend; fly with the clouds. See the Big Picture and our Big God!
“Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He brings out the starry hosts one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:26 and 28-31 (NIV)

“May I encourage you that when we feel like your world is falling apart, God works in ways we do not see or know? I love the line of Casting Crowns, "Just Be Held," that reads, "Your world is not falling apart; it is falling into place."
THIS is what I needed to hear today. Thank you!
