Hot Rolls, Good Friends, and a Grateful Heart

Today, some dear friends introduced me to Lambert’s Cafe in Sikeston, Missouri—the “Home of the Throwed Rolls.”

Yes, they actually toss the rolls to you!

And these rolls? Big. Hot. Yummy. Add a little sorghum, and I am ruined for life!

Delicious!

But as much as I enjoyed the food, the sweetest part of the day was the company.

As I climbed into the car with my dear friend Betty Dillenburg, and her sister Rachel Van Devender, I found myself thanking the Lord for the gift of like-minded friends.

Betty is the women’s director at Rock Haven Bible Camp in Hasty, Arkansas. Her ministry is growing in unbelievable ways. We met online in 2022 through a women’s ministry website and hit it off immediately! Since then, we have prayed for each other and encouraged each other. I am honored to call her friend.

I am grateful for her friendship and her heart for the Lord—and for the opportunity to return to Rock Haven Bible Camp to share with her ladies.

Days like this remind me how beautifully the Lord connects our lives. What began with an online introduction became a friendship—and an opportunity to serve Him together. That is what excites me most.

I love sharing encouragement for everyday life from a biblical perspective. I want to make Him known and remind women that, even in this broken world, we can live with His peace and joy.

Our circumstances may be anything but calm, but His presence gives us a place to rest. His peace reaches places that nothing else can.

And that is my prayer for our time together at Rock Haven Bible Camp.

I wish I could pack you up and bring you with me! Since I can’t, would you join us in prayer?

Pray that our hearts will be encouraged and strengthened as we read and apply God’s Word.

Pray for every woman who will gather—that she will feel welcomed, loved, and drawn closer to Him.

Pray for me as I share three messages from the Word of God.

And pray for Betty, Rachel and the Rock Haven ladies’ team as they lead and care for every detail.

Today, my heart is full. Good food. Dear friends. Hot Rolls. And the Joy of Sharing Jesus!
