Mothers: Invaluable

On this Mother’s Day weekend, my heart is especially full as I reflect on the incredible gift of mothers. My mom holds a unique and irreplaceable place in my heart and life. Her worth goes far beyond anything words could ever fully express. She has been my teacher when I needed wisdom, my counselor when life became difficult, and my faithful friend through every season. Through the years, she has given unconditional love, endless prayers, emotional support, guidance, strength, and cherished family traditions that continue to shape my life today. More than anything, she is a woman of faith whose example has pointed others toward Christ.

Helen Steiner Rice beautifully wrote in A Mother’s Love:

“A mother’s love is something that no one can explain,

It is made of deep devotionand of sacrifice and pain,

It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may

For nothing can destroy it or take that love away.”

How true those words are! A mother’s love is one of God’s sweetest gifts. It is seen in the quiet sacrifices, the late-night prayers, the comforting hugs, the encouraging words, and the unwavering strength mothers carry every single day. So often, mothers give pieces of their hearts without asking for recognition, simply because they love deeply and faithfully.

The Bible reminds us:

“Her children rise up, and call her blessed.” — Proverbs 31:28

This weekend may we pause to honor and celebrate the women who have nurtured, prayed for, encouraged, and loved us so well. If your mother is still with you, cherish the opportunity to tell her how much she means to you. If your mother is no longer here, honor her memory by sharing her love and kindness with someone else. Celebrate a grandmother, a daughter, a spiritual mother, or another woman who has impacted your life.

A Mother’s Day Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the gift of mothers and for the love they so freely give. Thank You for every prayer whispered, every sacrifice made, every tear cried, and every act of kindness shown through a mother’s heart.

Bless the mothers who are nurturing their families today with strength, wisdom, patience, and peace. Encourage the mothers who are weary, comfort those who are grieving, and surround with love those who may feel lonely this Mother’s Day. We thank You for mothers who taught us faith, showed us compassion, and reminded us of Your goodness through their lives. Help us never take their love for granted. May every woman who pours love into others feel appreciated, valued, and deeply cherished today.
