Bittersweet or Better & Sweet?

I want to share a personal word today.

Six souls very dear to my heart are walking down a new trail. It is a beautiful journey, but my 'people' are walking a road that carries them further away from Mimi and PopPop. And in all honesty, it has created separation anxiety for me.

Read the words of my daughter below:

"Let me tell you a little something about what God has done in our family over the past several years. Since 2019, we have been praying about and working towards helping to start a church alongside our dear friends, Tanner & Sam Hogue and Jon & Katelyn Sheets. Our family's plans were delayed a bit due to foster care and then adoption. For a while, it looked as if the door was shut completely. But I am here to tell you that God’s plans are never mistaken, and we can trust His timing. This journey hasn’t at all looked like we thought it would. But, I could tell you prayer after prayer that God has specifically answered and brought us to this point. His time is never wasted.

This month, we are finally joining our friends and the Port City Church family and moving to Norfolk, VA. Please join us in praying over our family and this move. Pray for our girls as they begin a new school this quarter and for our family as a whole as we navigate this change. Most of all, please join us in praying that God will be glorified!"

How do you transform Bittersweet into Better and Sweet?

How do you transform Bittersweet into Better and Sweet?

I'm not sure; I'm still working through it to be open with you. But I have to keep my eye on Him, Who sees and knows. I have to remind myself that His will is perfect. I know God is writing His story for my daughter and her family. I truly am proud of them and believe they are walking in obedience to the Lord in this move. The Bible says it like this in Isaiah 55.

“Indeed, my plans are not like your plans, and my deeds are not like your deeds, for just as the sky is higher than the earth, so my deeds are superior to your deeds, and my plans superior to your plans. Isaiah 55:8-9

I am choosing to trust His plan is better and sweet. I am trusting that He has purposes in this move that I can't see. I am believing for a bright future for my daughter and her family that will reveal some of what God had in mind in this move.

His plan is better and sweet!

What about you? Is there a transition in your life that is bittersweet today? Do you have a hurt that makes your heart ache? I want to remind you that God is writing your story as well. If you are walking with Him, you can trust Him and his ways. His good steps for you and your people are better and sweeter than any path you could ever imagine. Let's choose to trust the One who knows the beginning, middle, and end of the pathway. I am excited to see victories along the way!

How about you?

Thank you for your prayers for my people!
