Two Simple Steps

Ladies, have you ever found yourself in a situation that feels like a hot mess or a bad day? I may not know the specifics of your circumstances, but I can imagine you've weathered a few storms. Perhaps you've faced financial, health, or family issues. Maybe you're harboring a God-sized dream that feels overwhelming. You may be feeling paralyzed, unsure of how to move forward. I've faced my fair share of struggles, and I'm learning to apply a couple of life-altering steps. Today, I want to share two application truths that have helped me. My hope is that they will resonate with you and provide some encouragement.

Do what you can with what you have.

Sometimes, the problem is not the circumstances but my perspective. I am learning that attitude is half the battle. I need to do what I can with what I have without creating excuses. Otherwise, it is easy to convince myself I will try when I have more money, time, or talent. This video clip, "No Arms, No Legs," clearly encourages me to do what I can with what I have. It's powerful. It is challenging - and his point of perspective is incredible. When we remember what is truly important, it changes our hearts. Watch it!

Take the next step in the right direction.

No matter how small of a step, I can decide to take a step. After a while, small steps can end in huge benefits. Even tiny steps over time will give a domino effect. The first step is often the hardest for me, but once I take a step in the right direction, other steps follow. If I can just get started, the results will come. For example, start with a small group if you are afraid to speak. If you have given up on losing those pounds, drink water and start walking. If you and your husband are drifting apart, do something nice for him, swallow your pride, and meet him on his terms. If your child is giving you signs of addiction, get them professional help. If you think you are unqualified for work, look up instructions on YouTube or take a night class. No matter the size, take a step in the right direction. Small steps can build huge rewards when given time.

What issue bothers you today? What keeps you up at night? I challenge you to try these two application tips. Next year, at this time, you will be grateful!

Blessings, my sweet sister!
